I had originally planned a two-week hiking trip across the island. Along the way, however, I realized that at that moment I needed relaxation more than adventure—partly because of the weather. So I shortened the hike to one week and spent the second week exploring the island at a leisurely pace. Despite the change of plans, I got to see the island at its most breathtaking and learned a lot about myself in the process.
